It was a bright and sunny afternoon here in Los Angeles when I had the chance to photograph the iconic Hailie Sahar from “POSE” for MUZE Magazine!

What originally inspired you to take on an acting career?
What originally inspired me to take on acting as a career was my love for the arts. As a kid, I was always sitting in front of the television with my mother watching the Oscars, the Emmys, and dreaming of one day being a storyteller myself. I love art and how it can transform people’s hearts and understandings about different aspects of life.
What are you proud of?
I am proud of the legacies that I will leave behind as I continue to grow and my star continues to rise. The legacies represent quality, acceptance, understanding, peace, and determination.
Who are some of your biggest influences?
Some of my biggest influences include Meryl Streep, Angela Bassett, Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson, and Prince. All of these artists are fearless game changers in their own right.
Do you have anyone you admire and would love to work with in the future?
I admire Meryl Streep’s artistry and I would love to work with her soon.
What were the biggest struggles you had to face to get to where you are?
The biggest struggles I had to face in order to get to where I am is the courage to be myself unapologetically. Navigating in a reality with so many complex layers has never been easy, but I wouldn’t change it because the journey has built more integrity is me the most people will ever have. I love that about myself.
What is the best advice you have been given?
The best advice I’ve been given is to “do it well, do it all the way, or don’t do it at all,” a quote from the iconic Octavius St Laurent.
How do you stay in shape?
I stay in shape by Dancing. Dancing is the best exercise in my opinion because you get a full body workout while still enjoying yourself.
What is your beauty secret?
True beauty secrets start with health. I believe in eating clean and drinking lots of water. Water has been my best friend.
What would you say to someone who wants to become an actor or actress?
To anyone else who wants to pursue acting professionally, be determined in your pursuit of artistry. Learn your craft well so that you can see these opportunities. I would also suggest getting representation such as an agent.
What other new projects are you working on?
Currently, I am heading into production for the iconic Sir Lady Java project where I will double in starring as Sir Lady Java and also Executive Produce alongside the Award-Winning, Anthony Hemingway. I’m so excited for the world to see this body of work and to truly know the icon Sir Lady.
